HELLO!
DID YOU KNOW THAT ?
It’s a lot, right? Will you be left out?
I didn’t think so.
I can help you with your translation needs in Brazilian Portuguese. From entertainment giants to small indie devs, I’ve helped them all reach out to us either by translating their websites, EULAs, apps or app description on the App Store, or editing and localising their entire games and marketing material.
I can help you.
Let’s do something great together.
SERVICES
TRANSLATION
“To translate is to build bridges, to overcome barriers”.
That sounds beautiful, poetic and even sincere, but not practical at all. So we’ll consider translation as transferring a text from one language into the other. The difficulties inherent to this process are gigantic, though, so usually translators only translate into their native language.
As for me, I translate mostly from English into Brazilian Portuguese, but I may go the other way round under certain conditions (upon request). I also provide Spanish and French into my language.
EDITING/PROOFREADING
You know what makes any text look half-baked? Several misspellings and grammar mistakes!
Therefore, editing and proofreading is mandatory.
The basic concept of proofreading is correcting grammar mistakes, but there’s much more to it.
Since this task is so important, it’s usually divided into proofreading and editing.
While proofreading consists of correcting grammar mistakes and misspellings, editing is far more complex and involves changes in structures, cross-checking a text against its original and making stylistic enhancements.
Drop me a line and we’ll find out together what is it that you need.
LOCALISATION (L10N)
Localisation is a process which differentiates the content of a translation depending upon the place where it’ll be used. An example that would help us get the gist of localisation is when one uses “truck” in the US and “lorry” in the UK, this is some kind of localisation, but, of course, there’s a lot more to it. Even the fact that I’m using British English spelling is a type of localisation. Got it?
LINGUISTIC TESTING
As the name suggests, linguistic testing is the final (or almost) assessment of content by a linguist, who’ll seek bugs and mistakes that the proofreading/editing might have missed.
I’m the third of five children, a shower singer and a catperson. If you are here, you must know I’m also a translator.
Translation has been my passion since the 2nd year of my B.A in Translation of English and Brazilian Portuguese, which is why I’m constantly seeking professional enhancement.
Just don’t be tricked by my young-looking face: I’ve been working as a translator for the past 13 years, providing today English, French and Spanish to Portuguese services.
My main expertise is game localisation, which gives me great pleasure as I’ve been a gamer since I was a child, playing Japanese RPGs with my brothers.
In addition to video-games, I also translate, proofread and edit texts that require personality, such as marketing material, tourism and hotels, but also creative texts related to culture and many more.
When I decided to create this website, I knew I wanted to showcase myself both as a professional and as an individual. The informal register is my way of conveying the spirit of partnership I approach each project with — after all, your success is my success!
